The President Welcomes Loved Ones of Attacked Guard Personnel to the Presidential Residence
President Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the White House.
He added that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.
Background on the Tragic Incident

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their memory.
White House Offer
The commander-in-chief explained he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”
Community Reaction
Attendees came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.
Both she and Wolfe had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.
Honoring Beckstrom
“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of her previous school, informed the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”
Service arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.
Judicial Steps and Policy Changes
