Loyal followers of the pop star are calling for that a individual who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a promenade flanked by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being taken in", though court documents indicated that he was set to attend court on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains videos of him disrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last December.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is obviously a legal violation," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Well-being

Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote a further comment on Instagram.

Some supporters also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande appeared surprised when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had gathered in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as many hours before it started.

The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the sequel of a dual interpretation of the popular stage show Wicked, which centers on the unexpected relationship between two contrasting sorceresses.

The production itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 award recognitions, winning a pair for best costume and artistic direction.
