Netflix Selects Ideal Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has just been cast.
The platform declared recently that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Mr. 2. This character can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that role re-envisioned as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and animated series.
The new cast member joins several other recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, such as head Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Although the role is a key figure of the organization, the persona will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the placement of their first appearance, one that could signal additional alterations to the narrative framework.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the part. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
