Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
